Socket

Guide

Understand the result.

A short reference for using Socket and reviewing its output.

HTTP and WebSocket URLs

HTTP and HTTPS describe web requests. WS and WSS describe WebSocket connections. A secure website should use encrypted endpoints where possible.

Ports and paths

A port selects a service on a host; a path selects a resource within that service. Default ports are 80 for HTTP/WS and 443 for HTTPS/WSS.

Check before you connect

Keep tokens and passwords out of URLs you share. This inspector does not verify DNS, certificates, or server availability.

Try it

Open URL inspector with the included example, then change one value at a time.
